Al- Shifa Pharmaceutical’s is a subsidiary of Al- Shifa Trust Eye Hospital. It is a registered Pharmaceutical industry involved in manufacturing of 20 registered products under Rule, 19, Sub Rule, 7 0f the ( Licensing, Registering and Advertising) Rule, 1976. From the time of its establishment, it has been providing valuable ophthalmic products to Al-Shifa Eye Hospitals, both at Rawalpindi and Sukkar, for in house use only. Looking at the Quality and value of the registered products it has been a continuous discussion, at management level, to Market these products at national level.

It has been decided to open small territories, as integrated market segments, for test marketing, and to give the marketing rights to Third party for specific areas. From Oct. 2001 the products of Al- Shifa pharmaceuticals are available in Rahim Yar Khan and surrounding Towns. The Response from the market is quite encouraging. The staff of Al- Shifa pharmaceuticals, involved in manufacturing and Quality Control, is committed to Quality, Safety and Efficacy of their products. There were few products, like Pridsole (Prednisolone) and Tobralux (Tobramycine) which were not produced in the past due to one or the other reason, are now under regular production. To meet the requirement of Al- Shifa Hospital (Rawalpindi and Sukkar), and to improve the product range in the market, it has been decided to introduce new products. A no. of products are under discussion and they will be produced after necessary trials and legal process. The products to come are as follows:

A partfrom R. Y. Khan selected segments of Whole Pakistan are also under consideration. It is expected that the marketing in these segments will start before the end of 2002. Let us hope that one day Al- Shifa Pharmaceuticals, will provide a strong support to Al- Shifa Trust in helping the suffering community and to improve their life standard.
